Christmas 2012

On Christmas Eve, our sitter came over to watch Addison while Michael & I went to Christmas Eve service at church. Later that evening, we delivered gifts to some friends and family that don't live too far from us. Addison was so exhausted when we got home around 7:30, she barely kept her eyes open when I was reading her book to her before bed. As soon as I put her down, we pulled out her gifts. I guess it all depends on who you ask, but we didn't really go all out this year on gifts.

Santa stopped by with a personalized PB chair, an activity table with an easel, and foam puzzle pieces for the floor. In her stocking, he left some crunchies and yogurt melts, Cinderella on DVD, and some new socks. Oh, and a new toothbrush and toothpaste. :) He also left a few new books for her.

At first, she wasn't really sure where the new toys had come from. But she warmed up rather quickly.

A few months ago, there was a sale on toddler rain boots on Totsy so I ordered her a pair. I had actually forgotten about them, until I saw them in the box with the rest of her gifts on Monday night so I wrapped them up and put them under the tree. Midway through unwrapping gifts on Christmas morning, we had to take an intermission to change her diaper. She would barely stay still long enough to change her so I didn't even bother putting her pants back on. When she tried on the boots with just her diaper, I could not resist. Nothing says a Louisiana Christmas like a baby in a diaper with pink shrimp boots! Ha!

Leading up to Christmas morning, we were more excited than Addison was since she didn't really know what was going on. Just a few days before was when she really noticed there were gifts under the tree. And I think she was pretty overwhelmed with everything going on Christmas morning. But the girl sure does tearing into the wrapping paper!

When all calmed down later in the afternoon, I snapped this picture of the little princess in her chair feeding her baby doll. And then later on in the evening, it was time to color.

We had a wonderful day celebrating with our little family! We look forward to making many more memories in the years to come!
