We all say that weekends are too short. Well, this weekend definitely was! I can barely even remember what we did Saturday morning. I know we didn't leave the house at all, which is very unusual, and before I knew it, it was already 10:30. After lunch, once Addie went down for her nap, I did cleaned up around the house. We ate an early dinner and went to a free outdoor concert that evening. For the most part, Addie had a great time, but she lost interest and got bored.
We met up with some friends and one of them let her wear his hat. After that, she just wanted to dance to the music!
We left right before the concert ended and got home a little after 8pm. Addie usually goes to bed between 7:30 and 8 so we were already pushing it. But she needed a bath because there was no way she was getting in bed sweaty & stinky like she was. I was a little worried that she would be wide awake but after a quick bath, she let me blow dry her hair and bedtime went pretty well.
Unfortunately, the rest of the night did not go so well. She usually falls asleep without a problem, but she is still wearing the brace at night and when she turns over, it sometimes wakes her up. Most nights, she doesn't have a problem falling back asleep but Saturday night was not one of those nights.
Sunday morning, she was up bright & early and we had a couple toddler meltdowns before 9am. All because I was sitting on the couch where she wanted to sit or something like that. Fun times!
We went over to our friends' house for the Saints game yesterday afternoon. With the rain delay in Tampa, we had some time to kill and play around before the weather was safe enough for the team to start playing again. Addie walked out of their daughter's room with this firecracker headband on & cracked us all up. She kept putting it on and taking off, then trying to put it on all of the adults. I told her to wave her hand like the Statue of Liberty, which is why it's a bit blurry in this picture.
We left at half-time and got home in time to watch the rest of the game. While I was getting things together for the week, Addie emptied out her back pack one and kept saying "I wear hat." I'm not sure where she learned that everything must go on her head but she sure keeps us laughing while she's doing it!
Another great weekend in the books!! The only thing that really would have made it better is if the weather had been cooler...but that's coming...at least we sure hope so!
